Having served at the Centre since its founding, Dr. Arogundade took over as Medical Director in November 2018, leading LASAEC for close to eight years before his successor resumed in May 2026.
A Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Odusote resumed as Medical Director on 5 May 2026 and leads the Centre today.
Every Medical Director LASAEC has had shares one thing in common: a commitment to the principle this Centre was founded on — that timely, world-class trauma care should never depend on a patient's ability to pay.
LASAEC's work is carried out by a wider team of emergency physicians, nurses, and support staff working around the clock — many trained through our own MTEC programme, applying Advanced Trauma Life Support principles to every patient who comes through our doors.
